Professor Chan Shun Hing named Senior Fellow by the Centre for Theologically Engaged Anthropology at the University of Georgia

Professor Chan Shun Hing , Professor of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at HKBU, has been named as a Senior Fellow by the Centre for Theologically Engaged Anthropology at the University of Georgia in recognition of his excellent contribution to the advancement of sociology of religion.

 

 

Speaking about the fellowship, Professor Chan said he was excited and honoured to receive such recognition from social science professionals worldwide. Professor Chan’s research focuses on sociology and religion, church-state relations, and religion and social movements.

 

 

The Centre for Theologically Engaged Anthropology was founded in 2018 and has been working to strengthen ties between the disciplines of anthropology and theology. Professor Chan worked with the centre organizing a virtual international conference of “Rapid Religious Cultural Change” on 23-24, 30-31 October 2020.
