Abstract:
Does the universe have a beginning? Can science prove the existence or non-existence of God? Based on Professor Stephen Hawking’s books: “A Brief History of Time” and “The Grand Design”, the speaker will explain various stages of the big bang and the formation of the earth as perceived by modern scientists. Then he will compare these descriptions with those of the creation process recorded in the Book of Genesis. He will highlight some common issues arising from misunderstandings between religion and science. After the talk, question time will be available for open discussions. Challenging questions are welcome.
